Acid Blue AS is blue powder. The dye is soluble in acetone, ethanol and o-chlorophenol. Acid Blue AS has a low solubility in acetone, alcohol and pyridine, it is only slightly soluble in these solvents. Insoluble in nitrobenzene and xylene. When Acid Blue AS is placed in concentrated sulfuric acid, it will appear dark blue, and when diluted, blue precipitates will be produced.
